Play it Forward is a student-led initiative that will increase opportunities for educational sports for youth from marginalised communities in India. It will start by raising funds for basic sports equipment (cricket, football, etc.) for the partner NGO, which will be followed by organizing an intra-NGO sports tournament that will have multiple organizations participating. We will create a pitch deck for potential sponsors to raise money for facilities, equipment, and uniforms.
At the same time, the initiative will develop and distribute a handbook that will outline best practices related to budgeting and securing sponsorships, logistics of executing events, and scaling the delivery of sporting events. This will allow us to deliver on our strategic interventions of providing equipment, a tournament platform, and sharing organizational learning for partner NGOs. Ultimately, Play it Forward will work towards empowering learners from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds by developing sporting opportunities for learning and development, while creating knowledge resources for partner NGOs to deliver sustainable programmes.
